I have been very active in social media during my time at Shippensburg University. I have created several different Facebook pages, Twitter pages and blogs that have gone toward promoting the sports department at WSYC, my own radio show, and my own personal work.

One is for the radio show that I have on WSYC 88.7FM. I have a Twitter page @GallagherWSYC that is connected with the Facebook page involving my work with both student radio and television (SUTV News). Both have benefited my show with the interaction of listeners, looking to get their opinion on the different topics that are discussed.

Rebuilding the radio station's sports department at WSYC is a project that I wanted to complete. The creation of a Facebook and Twitter page that gave updates on Shippensburg sports scores, as well as keeping followers updated on where we have been with football and basketball broadcasts was a part of the process. I have seen that it does take time to attract new followers to these pages, but we continue to promote these pages regularly.

Another way to promote the sports department and generate interest was to create a blog to provide summaries and commentary on different Shippensburg sports. Videos were another component that was used, as well as a feed from the department's Twitter page.

I have a personal blog that I created in Internet Communication class that I continue to update on a regular basis with column writings.
