Ladies and gentlemen, your final BCS Standings have come out, and here are the Top 4.

1. florida state (13-0)
2. Auburn (12-1)
3. alabama (11-1)
4.michigan state (12-1)

Based on what happened in 2013, would the newly formed college football playoff committee choose all four of these schools to be in the playoff?

Looking at the four teams, a lot of people would say they would. Based on the top ten, you would have to think the committee would choose these four. Also, the matchups would not be half bad this season. 

With the current (and some to be former) system, at times the best or worst case scenario happens based on how the games play out.

Saturday's conference championship games were a coin flip. For those who thought a Florida State-Auburn title game took heads, and it came up heads. Those who took tails had their reasons. But the coin coming up tails has lead to most of the problems that have plagued the Bowl Championship Series from the beginning.

2013 gave us a result most of us can live with. Not everybody is happy, but the BCS's final voyage sees calmer waters.

Now it's up to a committee of athletic directors, former players, coaches and politicians to use their best judgement in choosing the four best teams for the playoff. It's like the play 12 Angry Men, with the addition of Dr. Rice to make up the 13 members.

The human element is back in play. Let's just hope it works.
